Gold Champion of Champions Catwo Sun Seeker was imported from the UK in 2003 and is without doubt the best-typed and largest NFC in Borealis Cattery. He is extremely popular on the show bench for his amazingly friendly nature, smooching the judges and stewards, rolling over and over with pleasure on the show table and smiling at everyone!

Sunny's wonderful temperament and size has been passed on to his very successful kittens, 5 of the first litter of 7 now being actively shown and/or in breeding programs, to enhance the reputation and improve the standard of NFCs throughout Victoria, and hopefully Australia. Now shown for over a year at every show possible, Sunny has reached top Gold Champion status and competes with the best longhair and semi longhair breeds, with much success, and rarely gets placed outside the Top Five Best Adults.

Many heartfelt thanks to Jennifer Sedgwick in England for letting me have this wonderful boy, and to my good friend, MaryRose Douglas for spotting him in "a litter of the largest NFC kittens I have ever seen"!!

Vale, Sunseeker

SunSeeker, known to his friends as ‘Sunny’, lost weight and condition quite suddenly. Rushed to the vet, he was diagnosed with lymphatic sarcomas, and although we rehydrated him and tried to attack it with aggressive chemotherapy, four weeks later when I returned home from work, he had been waiting for me to say ‘goodbye’. He passed away peacefully and naturally in my arms.

I have his son in Bjornolf, and will be keeping one of the V kittens, now known as ‘Sundance’ in his grandsire's honour (with thanks to Mel, who had originally reserved him and kindly agreed to adopt another kitten in his stead). We also have Sunny’s daughters, Rosanna, Ziva, Odette and Xanadu, so his heritage will continue on. Those who have kittens from Sunny need have no cause for alarm as his condition is not hereditary.

I was devastated to lose my beautiful, friendly boy, and his absence from the cattery is sorely felt by all. Rest peacefully, Sunny.
